European Football Transfer Rumours: Could Luke Shaw Leave Manchester United?
Luke Shaw’s future at Manchester United, Arsenal’s plans for teenage prospect Max Dowman and Liverpool’s reported interest in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara are among the major stories dominating European football transfer rumours on Thursday.
England defender Shaw could leave Manchester United at the end of the season, with no indication so far that talks over a new contract are underway.
The 31-year-old’s future could therefore become one of the issues facing United in the coming months.
While Shaw’s long-term future remains uncertain, Manchester United are also looking to the next generation, with 17-year-old German midfielder Noah Ajayi reportedly close to signing his first professional contract at Old Trafford.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have reportedly rejected several approaches from Luton Town to sign highly-rated youngster Max Dowman on loan.
The League One side are understood to have made repeated enquiries about the 16-year-old England prospect, but Arsenal have so far refused to sanction a temporary move.
The Gunners are also among several Premier League clubs monitoring Austrian midfielder Luca Weinhandl.
The 17-year-old Sturm Graz prospect is also attracting interest from Brighton and Aston Villa and could reportedly be available for around £17 million.
Liverpool are considering a January move for Monaco and Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara.
The 22-year-old was linked with Chelsea towards the end of the previous transfer window, but a move did not materialise.
Liverpool could now enter the race when the transfer market reopens as they assess options to strengthen their midfield.
Tottenham Hotspur have also emerged among the clubs linked with Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Galatasaray in July, making him an option for clubs seeking experience and depth in attack.
Arsenal are also reportedly keeping tabs on Brazil winger Rodrygo, who is currently injured at Real Madrid.
The Gunners showed interest in the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window and are believed to still be monitoring his situation in Spain.
Elsewhere, England teenage forward Vincent Joseph, 16, has confirmed his departure from Liverpool and is expected to join Arsenal.
Leeds United are not expected to rush a decision on whether to make Jean-Matteo Bahoya’s loan move from Eintracht Frankfurt permanent.
The 21-year-old forward has a reported £19.7 million purchase option included in his deal, but Leeds are expected to continue assessing his performances before making a final decision.
Former Manchester United and France forward Anthony Martial could also be heading to Spain.
The 30-year-old is reportedly set to join Malaga as a free agent, opening another chapter in a career that included a long spell at Old Trafford after he arrived from Monaco in 2015.
For now, attention will remain on Shaw’s Manchester United future, Liverpool’s interest in Camara and Arsenal’s continued pursuit of both established players and emerging talent.
However, the reports remain transfer speculation until confirmed by the clubs or players involved.
