1. Our Mission
The News Booth exists to inform, educate and entertain Kenya and beyond with accurate, timely and independent journalism. We are committed to fairness, accuracy and the public interest in everything we publish.
2. Sourcing
We rely on a combination of our own reporting, official statements, wire services and credible public sources. Every story is reviewed by an editor before publication. Where a story draws on external reporting or a wire service, we credit the original source clearly.
3. Verification
Before publication, our team checks key facts, names, figures and dates against at least one reliable source. We do not knowingly publish unverified claims presented as fact. Where information cannot be fully confirmed, we say so clearly.
4. Accuracy & Corrections
We aim for accuracy at all times. When an error is identified, we correct it promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for how to report a mistake and how we handle it.
5. Independence & Impartiality
Our journalism is independent of commercial and political influence. Advertising and sponsored content are always labelled as such and never influence editorial decisions.
6. Use of Technology
Like many modern newsrooms, we use AI-assisted tools to help gather, draft and organise stories at speed. Every article is reviewed and approved by a human editor before it is published, and accountability for all content rests with our editorial team.
7. Confidential Sources
We protect the identity of confidential sources in line with Kenyan media law and our editorial code. Sources may request anonymity when submitting information through our news desk.
