A family in Ntigin Village, Nairagie Enkare, Narok East, is seeking answers after their missing 29-year-old relative was found dead and shallowly buried on their farmland, ending a three-week search filled with uncertainty and anguish.
The remains, believed to belong to Jacob Memusi, popularly known as ‘Madawa’, were discovered by villagers who had joined the family in searching for him.
A close relative confirmed the discovery a week after Citizen Television highlighted the family's distressing ordeal, raising hopes that information from the public could help establish what happened to the missing man.
According to the family, Memusi disappeared without a trace about three weeks ago after waking up and leaving home. His sudden disappearance left his relatives worried, particularly because he was living with mild epilepsy.
The family had spent weeks searching for him, hoping to find him alive. However, the search took a tragic turn when villagers came across the decomposing remains, which were found buried in a shallow grave in the middle of the family's farmland.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with questions emerging over how he died and who may have been responsible for burying his body on the property.
Memusi's death has also brought renewed grief to a family that had already experienced significant loss. He was reportedly the sole surviving member of his immediate family on the three-and-a-half-acre piece of fertile land, having lost both parents and his younger brother earlier.
