The Kenya Revenue Authority's customs officers have intercepted 40 undeclared iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices valued at KSh8.2 million at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The taxman said that the phones were recovered from a passenger arriving in Kenya from Dubai.

According to KRA, the passenger had entered the country four times within a span of nine days.

The passenger reportedly told customs officers that he was transporting the phones on behalf of a Dubai-based client.

KRA has warned travelers against carrying packages for third parties without establishing their contents and ensuring that all goods are properly declared to customs authorities.

The authority says such arrangements can expose travelers to customs violations, particularly where undeclared or restricted goods are involved.

The interception comes as KRA intensifies surveillance and inspections at Kenya’s points of entry as part of efforts to curb customs breaches and prevent revenue leakage.
