KCB Rugby and Uganda’s KCB KOBS will face off in a cross-border rugby clash dubbed the ‘Sibling Rivalry’ on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka.
The match will bring together the two clubs sponsored by KCB, with KCB Rugby representing KCB Bank Kenya and KCB KOBS representing KCB Bank Uganda.
KCB Finance Director and KCB Rugby Club Chairman James Mugo says the fixture is intended to strengthen the sporting relationship between the bank’s operations across East Africa while giving players an opportunity to compete and learn from each other.
KCB KOBS are among Uganda’s oldest and most successful rugby clubs.
Founded in 1963 and based in Kampala, the club has won 13 Uganda Premiership titles, nine Uganda Cups and several National 7s championships.
The Ugandan side arrived in Nairobi on Thursday ahead of the match.
Their programme on Friday included a captain’s run, a visit to the KCB TRM Branch and a corporate social responsibility activity at the National Youth Service along Thika Road.
The matchday programme will also feature a university rugby clash between Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad and the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine.
The curtain raiser will precede the main encounter, which is scheduled to kick off at 4pm.
KCB KOBS centre Ian Munyani says the match will provide the Ugandan side with an opportunity to assess its progress, compete at a high level and build momentum ahead of the new season.
The fixture will also serve as part of preparations for the 15s rugby season, ahead of the Impala Floodlit Rugby Tournament scheduled for October 17, 24 and 31 at Impala Grounds along Ngong Road in Nairobi
