Kindiki, who was speaking in Kigoro, Maragua, after inspecting the ongoing works on the Mbombo-Gwa Thamaki Road, emphasized the importance of unity among residents as the nation gears up for the next electoral cycle. Using a football analogy to rally support for Ruto's re-election bid, Kindiki likened the political scenario to a game where Ruto, whom he referred to as "Fireman," is positioned close to the goal with no goalkeeper in sight. “Tukipatia William Ruto kiti next year, atasimama kura tena... hii mpira ipatiwe Fireman. Ako hapo karibu na goal. Goal haina goalkeeper,” Kindiki stated, implying that Ruto is well-placed to secure another term.

Continuing with the metaphor, Kindiki suggested that once Ruto completes his term, he would retire, much like his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta.
