Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has joined opposition leaders at the Linda Mwananchi Party Headquarters ahead of the official launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement.

In a statement, Gachagua confirmed his arrival at the headquarters, saying he had joined his colleagues in the United Alternative Government for the launch of the new political movement.

The former Deputy President expressed optimism about the gathering, describing unity among leaders as an important ingredient in achieving their political objectives.

"When we come together, great things happen," Gachagua said, signalling his support for the initiative and the broader political efforts by leaders associated with the United Alternative Government.

His presence at the headquarters comes amid growing efforts by opposition figures to consolidate their political influence and establish a common platform through which they can advance their agenda.

The Linda Mwananchi Movement is expected to provide a platform for leaders and supporters seeking to mobilise Kenyans around issues affecting ordinary citizens, including the economy, governance and the cost of living.

Gachagua's participation also highlights his continued engagement with opposition leaders following his exit from government and his subsequent involvement in efforts to challenge the Kenya Kwanza administration.

The former Deputy President has in recent months remained vocal on matters of governance, economic policies and the direction of the country, frequently criticising the government's handling of various national issues.

The launch is expected to bring together several political leaders and supporters, with the movement seeking to build momentum around its political message.

Gachagua's remarks on coming together suggest that unity will be a central theme of the gathering, as opposition leaders seek to strengthen their cooperation and create a united political front.

The event is also likely to offer an opportunity for the leaders to communicate their vision and also outline the movement's priorities and explain how they intend to engage Kenyans in the coming months.
