Two children aged three and five years have died after a house they were in caught fire in Ndenderu, Kiambu County.
The children are believed to have been inside the house when the fire broke out, with residents raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to residents, the children may have been left inside the house after their mother reportedly went to work in Ndenderu area.
Efforts by neighbours to rescue the children and put out the fire were unsuccessful.
Residents are said to have battled the flames as they waited for firefighters to arrive, but the house was extensively damaged in the blaze.
The bodies of the two children were taken to the mortuary at Gachie as investigations into the incident began.
Police are expected to establish how the blaze started and determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
