The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a second suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu, as detectives intensify an intelligence-led operation to track down individuals linked to the murder.
Nicholas Lemiso Naula was arrested on Thursday within Nairobi’s Central Business District following sustained efforts by detectives to identify and apprehend persons suspected of involvement in the September 9, 2025, killing.
According to the DCI, Lemiso is the bodaboda rider who allegedly ferried the main suspect, Police Constable Julius Cheruiyot, to and from the scene of the murder.
His arrest comes shortly after Cheruiyot was apprehended in connection with the case.
The two suspects are currently in custody undergoing processing as detectives pursue additional leads and work to identify other individuals linked to the killing.
The investigation remains ongoing, with the DCI seeking to establish the full circumstances surrounding Mbobu’s murder and bring all those responsible to justice.
