Former Chief Justice David Maraga has engaged Kenyan and other African students at Princeton University in a discussion on democracy, leadership and youth participation in governance.
Maraga described the session as an enlightening engagement, saying the students challenged him with questions that sparked deeper reflection on the continent’s future.
He expressed gratitude to Prof. Mahiri Mwita, who moderated the discussion, as well as Fatima Sheriff, Lennie Kiguru, Kiarie Muranga and the wider team that organised the engagement.
Maraga said Africa’s future depends on a generation of young people willing to question those in power, demand accountability and explore better approaches to governance.
He added that conversations such as the one at Princeton give him confidence that the responsibility of building strong institutions remains in capable hands.
