Police in Isinya, Kajiado County, have arrested a man suspected of murdering his wife after a missing person report led investigators to a suspected shallow grave at their home.
The suspect, identified as Shon David Rabassa Kioko, had initially reported his wife, Farida Peter Sangka, 34, missing at Isinya Police Station. The woman was a mother of four.
According to police, the incident is believed to have occurred on October 24, 2026, before the case took a new turn when the suspect’s casual labourer came forward with information about the woman’s disappearance.
The labourer, Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national who worked as a shamba boy in the Entarakuet area of Isinya, reportedly feared that he could be implicated in the matter.
He subsequently went to Kiserian Police Station and reported the incident under Occurrence Book (OB) number 60/28/10/2026.
In his report, Deo allegedly told police that his employer had killed his wife and instructed him to help bury her body in a shallow grave within their farm.
The information prompted police officers to visit the scene to investigate the claims. Officers arrested both Kioko and Deo before taking them to Isinya Police Station for further questioning.
Police have since secured the scene as investigations continue. The area is awaiting a court order to allow officers to exhume the suspected grave, process the scene and document any evidence that may assist the investigation.
The two men are expected to appear before the Kajiado Law Courts on Thursday, October 29, 2026. During the court appearance, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers are expected to seek orders allowing the exhumation of the suspected grave.
Investigators will also seek custodial orders to hold the main suspect as they continue gathering evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The case began as a missing person inquiry but has since developed into a suspected murder investigation following the labourer’s report.
Police are expected to rely on the planned exhumation and further investigations to establish what happened to Sangka and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
The allegations against the two men have not been established in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
