Two suspects linked to the alleged murder of a 34-year-old woman in Entarakuet, Kajiado East, will remain in police custody for an additional 15 days as detectives complete investigations into the killing.
Kajiado Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora granted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) an application to detain Shon David Kioko and his domestic worker, Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national, at Isinya Police Station.
The court also authorised the exhumation of the woman’s body to allow a postmortem examination and further investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The two suspects will remain in custody until November 16, 2026, when they are expected to return to court.
According to the allegations presented in the case, Kioko is suspected of killing his 34-year-old wife, who was a mother of four, before allegedly working with his domestic employee to bury her body at their residence.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are still under investigation, with detectives seeking to establish what happened and determine the extent of each suspect’s alleged involvement.
The suspects were arrested after Deo reportedly went to Kiserian Police Station and disclosed information about the incident, leading to their detention as investigators pursued the case.
The information provided by the domestic worker is understood to have prompted further inquiries into the woman’s disappearance and the alleged burial of her body at the home.
Police officers, accompanied by public health officials, were expected to oversee the exhumation of the body on Thursday afternoon. The remains were to be taken to a mortuary ahead of a postmortem examination.
The examination is expected to help establish the cause of death and provide forensic evidence that could assist detectives in piecing together the events surrounding the woman’s killing.
The additional detention period will allow investigators to pursue further inquiries, including examining evidence and gathering information that may be presented before the court.
The court’s decision to allow the exhumation is also expected to support efforts to establish the circumstances in which the woman died and how her body was allegedly buried.
The case has drawn attention to the alleged killing of a mother of four and the ongoing investigation into the circumstances of her death.
Kioko and Deo remain suspects in the case, and the allegations against them have yet to be tested in court.
