A primary school headteacher has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Amos Kibet in Mon Location, Kerio Valley Sub-County.
Peter Suter Kipkeu, the headteacher of Koitilial Primary School, was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Marakwet East following months of investigations into Kibet’s death.
The case, initially reported at Mogil Police Station, involves the killing of Kibet, a civil servant and teacher.
Detectives say the arrest follows investigations and recommendations by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Investigators have been working to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting and piece together events leading to Kibet’s death.
The DCI said investigations remain ongoing as detectives pursue additional leads and evidence in a bid to establish the circumstances of the killing and determine whether other individuals were involved.
Kipkeu is expected to be processed in accordance with the law as investigations continue.
