Fourteen families have been left without a place to stay after a fire swept through temporary houses near Genesis Preparatory School in Kisii.
The fire broke out in the area and quickly spread through the structures, destroying homes and belongings of the affected families.
Household items and other property were destroyed in the fire, although the full value of the losses has not yet been established.
The Kisii County disaster management team responded to the incident and worked to bring the fire under control but several of the structures had already been destroyed by the time the team arrived.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and investigations are expected to establish what caused the blaze and how it spread through the settlement.
The affected families are now calling for help as they look for shelter and try to recover what they lost in the incident.
