The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is appealing to members of the public for information that may lead to the arrest of Elizaphan Mayenga Michira, who is wanted in connection with allegations of obtaining money by false pretences through fraudulent promises of Canadian jobs and travel.
According to the DCI, Michira allegedly posed as someone capable of facilitating employment opportunities and travel to Canada, targeting job seekers with promises of positions such as nurse aides, storekeepers, and truck drivers.
He is further alleged to have demanded substantial sums of money from applicants, purportedly to cater for visa processing, medical examinations, biometrics and air travel.
Investigations reportedly established that some of the documents and travel arrangements presented to complainants were fraudulent.
The matter has been registered before the Milimani Law Courts under CR No. 011/14/2026 and Criminal Case No. E223/2026, where a warrant of arrest has been issued and remains in force.
Michira, whose particulars are listed as being from Borabu District, Borabu Division, Makenene Location and Matutu Sub-Location, is currently at large as detectives intensify efforts to trace and apprehend him.
Members of the public with information that may assist in his arrest are urged to report to the nearest police station or anonymously through #FichukuaDCI.
