The 9th Changamka Kenya Shopping Festival runs at KICC in Nairobi from November 3 to 7, 2026. The Kenya Association of Manufacturers organises the event to encourage consumers to buy locally made goods. Entry to the Nairobi edition is free for the public.

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) organises the Changamka Kenya Shopping Festival, which aims to get Kenyans buying locally made products. The event is held in partnership with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry. The Nairobi edition takes place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, known as KICC.

The festival has grown steadily since it started. The 7th edition in 2024 featured more than 200 exhibitors, including over 100 manufacturing small and medium enterprises. The 8th edition followed at KICC in November 2025, alongside the 3rd Kenya Industrialization Conference.

KAM promotes the festival as a way for shoppers to buy directly from factories, often at discounted prices. The organisers have promoted the “Buy Kenya, Build Kenya” theme, which encourages consumers to support domestic production. Entry to the Nairobi edition is free for members of the public.

The festival also includes a business-to-business exhibition and a Hosted Buyers Programme. The programme is designed to connect manufacturers with buyers and open access to new markets. KAM’s programme for the 2026 edition describes these as central parts of the event.

Sponsorship helps smaller firms take part. KCB sponsored 12 Coast-based SMEs to exhibit at the Mombasa edition of the summit and expo. The 2025 edition was also supported by TradeMark Africa, Afreximbank, Stanbic Bank, NCBA and Network International.

The timing matters because many households are still feeling the strain of high living costs. A festival that offers goods at factory prices gives shoppers a direct way to buy local. For manufacturers, it is also a test of whether domestic demand can compete with imports.

Watch for KAM’s end-of-festival figures on exhibitor numbers, sales and buyer deals from the Hosted Buyers Programme. Those results will show whether the festival is growing demand for local products or mainly raising the profile of exhibitors.
