Police in Samburu have intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting counterfeit alcohol during an intelligence-led operation at the Suguta Marmar roadblock.

Officers from Suguta Marmar Police Station, together with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Samburu Central, stopped the vehicle and searched it, resulting in the discovery of suspected counterfeit alcoholic beverages.

Police said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on the production and distribution of counterfeit alcohol and disrupt networks involved in the trade.

The authorities said such operations are aimed at preventing potentially harmful products from reaching unsuspecting consumers.

The vehicle has since been detained at Maralal Police Station pending verification of the suspected products by relevant government agencies and further police action.
