Six counties are set to experience power interruptions on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, as Kenya Power carries out scheduled maintenance.

The affected counties are Nairobi, Trans Nzoia, Murang’a, Embu, Kitui and Garissa, with the planned outages running from 9am to 5pm.

In Nairobi, the affected areas include Runda Drive, Mimosa Road, Mimosa Vale, Runda Vale, Runda Park, Ruaka Groove and parts of Kamae, including Imela Homes, Tapaz Lounge, 277 Lounge and Saa Mbaya.

In Trans Nzoia, the affected areas include Aturukan, Kibomet, Mwaita, Perekera and Tuigoin, among other surrounding areas.

In Murang’a, customers in Mukurwe, Njaini, Kihumbuini Market, Mukurwe Primary and Githima Market will be affected.

In Embu, areas listed include Kamumu, Soko, Karerema, Gwakaithi Primary, Karigiri Primary, Murari Village, Kavengero, Kabubua, Mugwanjogu, Kirigo Secondary, Ngoce, Ciangera and Munthatara.

In Kitui, the affected areas include Maliku Market, Kavisuni Market, Mandongoi Section, Kanyang’i Market, Zambia Water Supply and Kanyongonyo.

In Garissa, the interruption will affect areas including Maua Millers, Modika CAK, 17KR, Sumeya, Quba, Bulla Hagar and Duale Farm.

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
