The Social Health Authority (SHA) has extended the deadline for healthcare providers to complete the contracting process for the 2026–2029 cycle by 14 days.

The new deadline is October 14, 2026, giving facilities more time to complete the process.

SHA said healthcare facilities will continue operating under their existing contracts during the extension period. However, the contracts will lapse at the end of the 14 days, with no further extension expected.

Providers will be issued with a 14-day extension to their contracts through the e-contracting platform and are required to accept, sign and return the agreement within three days to ensure continuity of services.

Facilities that do not accept the extension have been advised to coordinate with SHA county managers to transfer patients receiving ongoing care to contracted providers.

SHA will also conduct HAKIKA contracting clinics in every county from Monday, October 5, to support providers in completing the process.

The authority says 10,006 providers have so far expressed interest and are at various stages of the contracting process.
