The Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare will inspect Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The inspection is scheduled for 9:30am and will assess the stadium’s readiness to host matches during the continental tournament.
The committee will check the progress of ongoing works and identify any outstanding areas that need to be addressed before the tournament.
It will also assess occupational safety and health, accessibility, security, emergency preparedness and the stadium’s overall operational readiness.
Officials from relevant government ministries and agencies will accompany the committee during the inspection.
The visit comes as Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania prepare to jointly host AFCON 2027.
