Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has debuted a new hairstyle after getting cornrows during his flight to the United Arab Emirates.
Salasya shared the unusual travel experience on social media, saying he struck up a conversation with a female passenger who offered to do his hair during the flight.
According to the MP, the woman asked if she could keep herself busy by styling his hair before they reached Abu Dhabi.
Salasya, who appeared to have traded his familiar shaggy hairstyle for neat cornrows, said he woke up to a completely different look.
He joked that he could not return to Kenya looking that way, comparing his new appearance to a “fake” version of former Ivorian football star Didier Drogba and Manchester City winger Michael Olise.
The MP is in the UAE for a business trip, where he says he is seeking investors to support opportunities in Mumias East, ranging from talent and indigenous vegetables to technology.
The unexpected makeover has since added a lighter moment to Salasya’s latest overseas trip.
