President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga have wished candidates sitting Kenya’s 2026 national examinations success, urging them to remain confident and give their best as the examination period continues.
In separate messages on Monday, October 26, the two leaders encouraged learners to trust their preparation while thanking teachers, parents and guardians for supporting candidates throughout their academic journeys.
Ruto addressed Grade 6 and Grade 9 learners beginning their national assessments, alongside Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates preparing for the main written examination papers.
“This is your moment. You have prepared, you have worked hard, and you are ready,” the President said, urging candidates to remain calm, trust their preparation and give their best.
He also expressed confidence in the learners, assuring them that the country was proud of their efforts and looking forward to what they would accomplish in the future.
“Kenya believes in you, Kenya is proud of you and Kenya cannot wait to see what you will build,” Ruto said, concluding his message with prayers for the candidates and the country.
The President thanked teachers, parents and guardians for bringing learners this far, acknowledging their contribution to preparing candidates for the assessments and examinations.
Meanwhile, Oburu extended his thoughts, prayers and encouragement to candidates across the country, wishing them success as they sat their examinations.
The ODM leader urged learners to remain calm and focused, trust the knowledge they had acquired and approach every paper with confidence.
He also advised candidates to manage their time carefully, read examination instructions thoroughly and give their absolute best in every paper.
Oburu acknowledged the contribution of parents, teachers and guardians, thanking them for supporting learners throughout the preparation period.
He extended his wishes to candidates who had already sat their papers and those scheduled to take their examinations in the coming days, expressing hope for their success.
The messages come as Grade 6 learners undertake the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Grade 9 learners begin the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) on October 26.
Meanwhile, the 2026 KCSE examination period began earlier in October with oral, practical and other papers. The main written examinations are scheduled to run from November 2 to 20.
