The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 13 candidates for interviews for the position of Data Commissioner, following the end of the application process that attracted 152 applicants.
The position was advertised on August 25, 2026, with applications closing on September 14.
The successful candidate will replace Immaculate Kassait, who became Kenya’s inaugural Data Commissioner in November 2020.
The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Public Service Commission offices on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.
They are Nooseli Moses Lemaiyan of Narok, Otieno Oscar Onyango of Siaya, Shalle Mohamed Abdi of Garissa, Sitieni Lydia Chelagat of Trans Nzoia, Nyale Duncan Kubahatisha of Kilifi, Kirwa Solomon of Uasin Gishu and Anditi Stephen Odhiambo of Homa Bay.
Others are Lobuin Isaac Eregae of Turkana, Media Council of Kenya Chief Executive Officer Omwoyo David Omwoyo of Nakuru, Mbiuki Jasper Micheni of Tharaka-Nithi, Cheronoh Lynneth of Bomet, Abdi Mohamed Hussein of Isiolo and Nyongesa John Walubengo of Bungoma.
The interviews will run from 8am to 3.30pm, with candidates required to report at least 20 minutes before their scheduled interview time.
The shortlisted candidates have been directed to present original identification documents, academic and professional certificates, supporting documents and testimonials, as well as clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Higher Education Loans Board, a registered Credit Reference Bureau and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The PSC has also invited members of the public to submit credible information concerning any of the shortlisted candidates through affidavits.
