President William Ruto is today, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, set to lead the official handover, dedication and commissioning of the Raila Amolo Odinga Mausoleum at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County.
The event comes as the country marks “Mwezi wa Baba”, a month dedicated to remembering and honouring the life, legacy and contribution of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, one year after his death.
Siaya Governor James Orengo said he spent Tuesday evening with Raila’s widow, Dr Ida Odinga, at Opoda Farm before conducting a final walkthrough of the mausoleum ahead of today’s official handover.
Public access to the mausoleum is scheduled for October 8, while a memorial service for Raila Odinga is set for October 15.
Orengo has welcomed Kenyans to Siaya for the commemorative events.
