A passenger has died after suffering a medical emergency on board a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Lagos, the airline has confirmed.
According to Kenya Airways, the incident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, aboard a flight from Nairobi to Lagos.
The passenger was found unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft was scheduled to land in Lagos, at around 9:20pm Nigerian time.
The airline said its crew immediately administered first aid in line with their training and followed the required emergency procedures.
The aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 9:41pm, where medical personnel were waiting to attend to the passenger.
After further examination, the medical team confirmed that the passenger had died.
Kenya Airways expressed its condolences to the deceased’s family and friends, while apologising for any inconvenience caused by the incident.
The airline said it is respecting the privacy and dignity of everyone involved and is working closely with the deceased’s family, local authorities and aviation regulators.
The cause of death was not disclosed in the incident update issued by the airline on Wednesday, October 7.
