Ikanga/Kyatune Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka has been charged with two additional counts of stealing involving mobile phones worth approximately KSh 2.2 million in separate incidents in Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD).

Musyoka appeared before Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo at the Milimani Law Courts, where he pleaded not guilty to both charges of stealing, contrary to Section 268(1), as read with Section 275 of the Penal Code.

According to the prosecution, the first charge relates to an alleged theft on September 14, 2026, involving 20 Samsung A07 smartphones valued at KSh 420,000.

The devices reportedly belonged to Ezekiel Kamau Gichuki and were allegedly stolen from the offices of Chania Genesis Limited along River Road in Nairobi's CBD.

In the second count, Musyoka is accused of stealing 126 Itel A200 mobile phones valued at KSh 1,801,000, belonging to Simon Gitonga. The alleged incident occurred on August 18, 2026, at the North Rift Shuttle offices along Mfangano Lane.

The prosecution further told the court that Musyoka allegedly committed the offences alongside other individuals who are yet to be arraigned in connection with the cases.

The latest charges add to an existing case in which the MCA was charged on November 3, 2026, over the alleged theft of 42 Itel City 200 smartphones valued at KSh 609,000.

The 42 handsets, each valued at KSh 14,500, were allegedly stolen from a shop owned by Dahir Adan Mohamud on August 5, 2026.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution opposed his release on bond, citing the seriousness of the allegations and his previous failure to attend court, which reportedly resulted in warrants of arrest being issued against him.

The court was also informed that Musyoka was required to appear before the Makadara Law Courts to answer separate criminal charges.

In his plea for lenient bail terms, the MCA told the court that he was a father of three minor children and had responsibilities as an elected representative in the Kitui County Assembly.

He maintained that he was not a flight risk, arguing that his residential address was known to the police and that he was willing to comply with any conditions imposed by the court.

Following the proceedings, the court ordered that Musyoka remain in custody at Kamukunji Police Station until November 6, 2026, when he is expected to appear before the Makadara Law Courts for plea-taking in another case.

He will subsequently be transferred to Industrial Area Remand Prison as he awaits the court's determination of his bail applications in the three cases.

The ruling on his bail applications is scheduled for November 18, 2026.
Musyoka has denied all the charges against him, and the allegations remain subject to determination by the courts.
