President William Ruto has stepped up engagements with global business and institutional leaders in New York, seeking partnerships to advance Kenya's sports, healthcare, clean energy and technology sectors.
During a meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Ruto discussed plans to establish regional technical centres aimed at developing football talent, strengthening grassroots programmes and creating opportunities for young Kenyan players.
The President said the government was also investing in sports infrastructure, including 32 new stadia designed to meet international standards and support Kenya's ambitions in sports.
Ruto's meeting with His Highness the Aga Khan focused on Kenya's longstanding collaboration with the Aga Khan Development Network.
The discussions covered healthcare, education and opportunities to deepen the network's contribution to national development.
The President also welcomed Bloomberg's interest in investing in Kenya during talks with its founder, Michael Bloomberg. He said the company's presence could help attract investors, showcase the Nairobi Securities Exchange and promote Kenya's economic opportunities internationally.
The two also discussed partnerships in public health, clean energy and climate action, including a proposed Green Technology Accelerator Hub in Kenya and cooperation ahead of the Clean Cooking Summit in January 2027.
In the technology sector, Ruto met Cisco Executive Vice President Francine Katsoudas to discuss the Moran AI and Cyber Center of Excellence, which focuses on building capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
The talks further explored digital skills and enterprise development under the Accra Reset agenda, as Kenya seeks to strengthen its technology infrastructure and create opportunities for young people.
