Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance that will affect parts of Nairobi, Murang’a, Bomet, Kericho and Meru counties on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The scheduled maintenance will result in temporary interruptions in electricity supply as the utility company carries out work on its network.

In Nairobi, the affected areas include Kianda School, Kangemi and Communication Authority, with the interruption scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include parts of Waiyaki Way, Shell Waiyaki Way, Kangemi Gichagi, Kangemi Shangilia, Nairobi Water, Quickmart Waiyaki Way, Silicon Craft, Kangemi Sodom, Kabete Technical, Enda Kmt, Mt. View Mkt, Kangemi Mkt, Kihumbuini Pri, Kangemi High, Kangemi Pri, Marenga Rd, Co-op Bank Kangemi and Kangemi Bus Terminus, among other adjacent areas.

In Bomet County, power maintenance will affect parts of Tenwek and Merigi between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The affected areas include Gift Mart Super Market, Equity Afia, Shell Petro Station, Siliwbet Mkt, Tenwek Mission Hospital, Tenwek High School, Chen Sirian, Chepngaina, Motigo Factory, Stegro T/Fact, Kiromwok, Kitomber, Mugango and Salaik, among other areas.

In Kericho County, parts of Ainamoi will experience an interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The affected areas include Gokul Quarry, West Valley Quarry, Lalit, Kiburet, Kapkormom and Moitik, together with neighbouring customers.

Meanwhile, in Murang’a County, Kenya Power has scheduled maintenance in Njiris and Makomboki from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The affected areas include Kanyerere, Mwarano, Njiris High, Mairi, Gatitu, Ikohokoko, Gatiaiani, Kairitu, Ciakahii, Gitwe, Ngecha, Makomboki Market, Makomboki T/Fact, Ngureini and Kanderendu, among other adjacent customers.

In Meru County, residents and businesses in Marimba and Kathera will also experience an interruption between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The affected areas include Marimba Market, Marimba Farm, Imenti T/Fact, Kathera Girls, Kithirune Market, Uruku Prison, AIPCA Wesley, Kaubau, Kagumu TBC and Kagwampungu, among other neighbouring areas.

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly during the scheduled maintenance period.
