Kenya Power has announced a planned electricity interruption affecting parts of Uasin Gishu County on Saturday, October 10, 2026, to facilitate scheduled maintenance works.
The utility said the power interruption will affect customers in the Pan Paper Market, Nzoia Quarry and Lwanda areas, with the maintenance exercise scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In a notice issued ahead of the exercise, Kenya Power listed Pan Paper Market, Marula, St. Gabriel, KMTC Lugari, Saleh and Nabemo among the areas expected to be affected, alongside neighbouring customers connected to the same supply network.
The eight-hour interruption is intended to allow the company to carry out maintenance on its electricity distribution infrastructure.
Customers in the affected areas have been advised to make the necessary arrangements to minimise disruptions to their homes, businesses and other activities during the scheduled outage.
The interruption may affect households, businesses, institutions and other electricity consumers within the designated areas.
Residents and business owners are therefore encouraged to plan ahead, particularly those operating equipment or services that depend on a continuous power supply.
Kenya Power routinely schedules maintenance works to support the reliability and safety of its electricity distribution network.
Such exercises may require temporary interruptions to allow technicians to undertake work on affected sections of the system.
Customers seeking clarification about the planned maintenance or assistance during the interruption can contact the utility through its customer care channels, including the MyPower App, social media platforms and the USSD service *977#.
Meanwhile, Kenya Power has announced that its contact centre will be temporarily unavailable by telephone during scheduled system maintenance running from midnight on Friday to 5 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The company says customers will still be able to reach it through email, its social media platforms, the *977# service and the MyPower App during the temporary telephone service disruption.
Kenya Power has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary unavailability of the contact centre and thanked customers for their understanding.
Customers are advised to use the available alternative communication channels for inquiries and assistance during the maintenance period.
