The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall in parts of several counties between September 15 and 21, 2026.
According to the department’s weekly forecast, rainfall is expected at different times of the day in parts of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Kisumu, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kiambu, Meru, Nyeri and other counties.
Coastal counties, including Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu, are expected to experience morning showers in some areas during the forecast period.
Morning rainfall is also expected in parts of Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri and Meru.
In the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms are forecast in parts of Western Kenya, the Rift Valley and the Central region. Some areas of Nairobi and other counties may also receive afternoon showers.
The forecast further indicates that some areas of Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri and Meru may experience rainfall at night.
The Meteorological Department cautioned that the forecast does not mean all areas within the named counties will receive rainfall, noting that the weather conditions will affect specific locations.
Members of the public have been advised to continue monitoring weather updates and take appropriate precautions to protect lives and property during the forecast period.
