Harry Kane has signed a record-breaking contract extension with Bayern Munich, committing his future to the Bundesliga champions until June 2029 in a deal that is reportedly the most lucrative in the club's history.
The 33-year-old England captain signed the new agreement on Thursday, November 5, extending his previous contract, which was due to expire in June 2027, by a further two years.
The agreement is expected to make Kane the highest-paid player in European football by salary, underlining Bayern's determination to retain their leading attacking figure amid his growing influence at the club.
Although the financial details have not been officially disclosed, the extension represents a significant commitment to a player who has transformed Bayern's attack since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023.
Kane's decision to remain in Munich comes just over a week after he won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Bundesliga player in 30 years to claim football's most prestigious individual award.
His performances during the 2025/26 campaign played a major role in that achievement, with the striker scoring 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern across all competitions. He also contributed to England's campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking his international and club tally for the season to 73 goals.
Since moving to Germany, Kane has established himself as one of Europe's most prolific forwards. He has scored 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances for Bayern, while also providing 40 assists.
His trophy collection in Munich includes two Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups. He has also finished as the Bundesliga's leading scorer in each of his seasons with the club.
Kane has twice won the European Golden Shoe, awarded to the leading goalscorer across Europe's domestic leagues, following his prolific 2023/24 and 2025/26 campaigns.
Explaining his decision to extend his stay, Kane pointed to his happiness at the club and the stability his family has found in Munich.
"I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager," he said.
"My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I'm now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club."
Bayern president Herbert Hainer described the extension as a special moment in the club's history, while chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen welcomed Kane's decision to continue his career in Munich.
Sporting director Christoph Freund also praised the striker's contribution, highlighting his leadership, consistency and importance to the team's ambitions.
The new agreement gives Bayern long-term security around their most influential goalscorer as they pursue further domestic and European success, while keeping Kane at the centre of their plans for the coming seasons.
