Five members of one family have died following a road accident at Kikopey along the Nakuru-Naivasha highway in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Winstone Mwakio confirmed that the accident involved a saloon car carrying six people and an Easy Coach bus, which collided head-on.
The bus was travelling towards Nakuru, while the private vehicle was headed to Nairobi. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to PNN Funeral Home, while the sixth occupant, who sustained serious injuries, is receiving treatment at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.
The victims were members of the same family who were travelling back to Nairobi from Kisumu, where they'd attended their mother's burial a week earlier.
