DStv Kenya will introduce four new subscription packages on November 5, 2026, reducing monthly prices to between KSh 750 and KSh 7,300 as the pay-TV provider restructures its offerings to attract more viewers. The changes, announced by MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, will replace the existing six-tier lineup with Starter, Select, Sports and Ultimate, with expanded sports coverage and refreshed entertainment options.

The biggest price reduction affects subscribers seeking the most comprehensive package. DStv Ultimate, which replaces the Premium tier, will cost KSh 7,300 monthly, down from KSh 11,700. This represents a reduction of KSh 4,400, equivalent to approximately 37.6%, as the company seeks to make premium sports and entertainment more accessible.

The entry-level DStv Starter package will cost KSh 750 per month and include more than 116 channels featuring local entertainment, movies, children's programming and selected football matches. The package also introduces SuperSport KICKOFF, a channel offering selected matches from major football competitions, including the Premier League.

DStv Select will cost KSh 1,500 monthly and provide more than 149 channels covering family entertainment, local and international series, movies, children's programming and selected sports. Its refreshed movie offering includes M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends, giving subscribers additional options for film and television entertainment.

The KSh 3,000 DStv Sports package is designed for football enthusiasts and other sports viewers. It will offer more than 159 channels, including every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, alongside other European club competitions, UFC and WWE. The package also includes the general entertainment channels available on Select, allowing subscribers to access sports and family programming under one subscription.

At the top of the lineup, DStv Ultimate will offer more than 180 channels, combining the Sports package with additional premium sporting events and entertainment. Subscribers will have access to Formula 1, MotoGP, major golf tournaments, tennis and rugby, alongside premium international series on M-Net and other Discovery programming.

The new prices also reduce costs for customers moving from several existing packages to their intended replacements. The former Access package cost KSh 1,450 monthly, compared with KSh 750 for Starter, while Family subscribers paying KSh 2,250 will see the price fall to KSh 1,500 under Select. Compact, previously priced at KSh 4,200, is being replaced by Sports at KSh 3,000.

The revamp will also introduce SuperSport Swahili, a 24-hour sports channel offering Swahili commentary and coverage of football, athletics, UFC, WWE and regional sporting events. The channel will launch on November 5 for DStv customers in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, reflecting MultiChoice's push to develop content tailored to East African audiences.

MultiChoice will complement the package changes with a hardware promotion running from November 2, 2026, to February 28, 2027, offering discounted prices on selected decoders and hardware bundles. The company has positioned the promotion as a way to help more households connect to its television services.

The restructuring comes as pay-TV providers face competition from streaming platforms and changing consumer spending habits. By lowering subscription prices and bringing premium football into a less expensive package, DStv is attempting to retain existing customers while making its services more accessible to households with different entertainment budgets.
