The body of a man who went missing on Monday has been found in the waters of River Lusumu in Makunga, Mumias East Constituency, Kakamega County.
The deceased, identified as Peter Wakholi Masakhwe, reportedly disappeared from his home in Eshiakhulo Village, Malaha Isongo, on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Makunga Sub-location Assistant Chief James Rapando said the body was recovered from the river on Thursday.
Rapando noted that the latest incident was not the first case of a body being found in the river.
He urged residents to exercise caution when crossing rivers, particularly as the region anticipates El Niño rains, to prevent further loss of life.
