Albert Komen Kipkechem, who had been declared wanted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), has been arrested and arraigned in court.

Kipkechem was wanted after failing to attend several court sessions in a case involving charges of access with intent to commit a further offence and computer fraud.

He was charged at the Milimani Law Courts on March 3 and March 12, 2026, under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.

The court had initially granted him cash bail of Sh1.5 million and Sh500,000 for the two charges.

However, Kipkechem failed to appear in court for subsequent proceedings, leading to the issuance of warrants for his arrest.

The DCI later published a wanted notice seeking information that could help locate him. The notice identified his home county as Baringo and his place of residence as Kabarak.

Following his arrest, Kipkechem was taken before the court, where his earlier bond was cancelled.

The judge ordered that he be remanded in custody as the case proceeds.
