Victor Wembanyama delivered a career-best performance, scoring 52 points and grabbing 24 rebounds to inspire the San Antonio Spurs to a narrow 112-111 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA on Wednesday night, November 4, 2026.

The 22-year-old French centre also recorded eight blocks, two assists and two steals in 34 minutes as San Antonio extended its winning streak to six games at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Wembanyama shot 16 of 28 from the field and converted 19 of his 23 free-throw attempts, setting personal records in both scoring and rebounds. He also registered seven dunks during the contest.

His performance placed him in a rare category in NBA history, becoming the first player since Bob McAdoo in 1974 to record at least 50 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a single game.

Wembanyama had already established another milestone before half-time, recording 29 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks. He became the first player in the NBA's play-by-play era, which began in the 1996-97 season, to reach at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a single half.

The Spurs appeared in control after building a 73-54 advantage early in the third quarter. However, Dallas mounted a comeback, eventually taking a 103-100 lead following a three-pointer by P.J. Washington with 5:36 remaining.

Wembanyama responded with a three-pointer to level the contest at 103 before contributing crucial points during the closing minutes.

With the game tied at 111, he converted one of two free throws with 24.2 seconds remaining to put San Antonio ahead. Dallas had an opportunity to reclaim the lead, but Kyrie Irving missed a contested 15-foot jumper with four seconds left, allowing the Spurs to secure the victory.

Irving finished with 29 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Dallas, while Naji Marshall added 22 points and P.J. Washington contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds. Cooper Flagg also recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

"You can see his aggression has been raising over the past few games," Irving said acknowledging the growing threat posed by Wembanyama.

Dylan Harper supported Wembanyama with 21 points for San Antonio, while Stephon Castle added 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Spurs improved their record to 6-2 with the victory, having recovered from consecutive opening-season defeats to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. Wembanyama has averaged 32.5 points during the six-game winning streak.

His 52 points, 24 rebounds and eight blocks ultimately marked a career-defining night, reinforcing his impact on both ends of the court as San Antonio continued its strong start to the NBA season.

Wembanyama, who had been battling a virus earlier in the season, also appeared to roll his ankle during the fourth quarter but returned to the game to help secure the result.

Despite his career night, Wembanyama insisted he was not yet satisfied with his performance, particularly his shooting from outside the three-point line, where he made just one of eight attempts.

"I can still do more," Wembanyama said, adding that he believed he could perform even better once his shooting improved.

The Spurs will next travel to face the Sacramento Kings on Friday, November 6, as they look to extend their winning run
