Police in Garissa have arrested two men suspected of being members of a robbery gang linked to a series of violent incidents in the county.
The two suspects were arrested on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Bulla Sagarey during an operation by officers from Garissa Police Station.
Police said the operation was based on intelligence gathered on the activities of the suspected gang and the suspects were reportedly found in possession of machetes at the time of their arrest.
Investigators believe the two could be part of a wider criminal network operating in the region and are now working to establish their possible connection to the reported robbery incidents.
The National Police Service said such operations are aimed at disrupting criminal networks and improving security for residents and have also continued to rely on information from members of the public to identify and track suspected criminals.
The suspects are being held at Garissa Police Station as officers complete investigations and process the case and are expected to be taken to court once the police process is completed.
