Detectives have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of a 49-year-old man and a separate stabbing incident that left another man seriously injured in Lindi, Kibra, Nairobi County.

The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation in the Kingstone area of Lindi after two violent incidents were reported on the morning of October 23, 2026, involving men who were reportedly heading to work.

The suspects, identified as Abdizar Suleiman and Stephen Litari Hussein, are in police custody undergoing processing ahead of their expected arraignment in court.

In the first incident, Jacob Odhiambo Alube, 49, was fatally stabbed during a robbery in which assailants allegedly targeted him for his valuables, including his mobile phone.

According to the police account, Alube attempted to resist the robbery, prompting the attackers to stab him in the chest and left thigh before fleeing the scene.

Officers who responded to the incident found the victim lying in a pool of blood. Bloodstains several metres away from where his body was discovered reportedly indicated that a struggle may have taken place before he succumbed to his injuries.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel later processed the scene as detectives began gathering evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Alube’s body was subsequently moved to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it was awaiting a post-mortem examination to help establish further details about his death.

In a separate attack reported the same morning, a 58-year-old man identified as Juma Jared was stabbed multiple times by two assailants.

Jared sustained injuries to his upper left arm, the left side of his chest and the lower left side of his back.

Good Samaritans rushed him to Mbagathi Hospital for emergency treatment before he was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for further medical care.

He was reported to be in fair and stable condition following the attack. Unlike the first incident, nothing was reportedly stolen from him.

Following the two incidents, detectives launched investigations to establish whether there were any links between the attacks and identify those responsible.

The subsequent intelligence-led operation in Kingstone, Lindi, led to the arrest of Suleiman and Hussein, who remain in custody as investigations continue.

Police are expected to pursue further inquiries as the suspects await court proceedings. They remain suspects, and the allegations against them have yet to be tested in court.
