Two men have been arrested in Mombasa over suspected motorcycle theft, with police recovering two motorcycles and a television believed to have been stolen.
The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Hassan Mohammed Juma and 30-year-old Aggrey Joel Enonda, were arrested in Kiembeni-Ugatuzi following investigations into motorcycle theft reported at Mtwapa Police Station.
Police said the investigation led officers to a location about eight kilometres southwest of the station, where they recovered two motorcycles suspected to have been stolen.
The recovered bikes included a Boxer motorcycle with a registration number and a red Haojin motorcycle whose registration number was missing.
A further search at the suspected hideout led to the recovery of a television believed to have been stolen. Officers also seized two machetes, a military belt, military shorts, a pair of brown military boots and a new bag.
The items have been kept as exhibits as investigations continue and the two suspects are being held at Mtwapa Police Station as they await arraignment in court.
