Two suspects have been arrested and several Kenya Power electricity meters recovered in an operation targeting the theft and handling of electricity infrastructure in Lucky Summer, Nairobi.
The operation was conducted on Tuesday by officers from Lucky Summer and Ruaraka police stations in collaboration with Kenya Power personnel.
Police acted on information concerning stolen electricity meters believed to be in the area, leading to the recovery of the meters and other assorted items suspected to have been stolen.
The two suspects are expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as investigations continue into other reported cases of electricity infrastructure theft.
The operation comes amid efforts by police and Kenya Power to curb the theft and illegal handling of electricity infrastructure, which can disrupt power supply and expose the public to safety risks.
