The planned outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Kitui, Machakos, Kilifi, Kisumu, Siaya, Bungoma and Kiambu counties, with interruptions expected to last between three and nine hours, depending on the location.

In Nairobi, the interruption will affect parts of Parklands between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.

The affected areas include parts of Masari Road, parts of 2nd and 3rd Parklands, Baywaters and Doctors Plaza, as well as neighbouring customers.

In Kiambu County, electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Kigwa and Ridgeways from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The affected locations include Four Ways, Laymark Apartments, parts of Bypass, St Mary's High School, parts of Thindigua, Kasarini, Kwaheri Road, Elysian Resort, Sabis School, Kencom Estate, Muhasibu Estate, Rubis and Shell Bypass, among other neighbouring areas.

These are Sondu, affecting Bethlehem Hospital and Bishop Okumu, and Miwani, where Miwani Boys, Gondi Oraro, Nyangeta Police and Makini Home are among the listed locations.

In neighbouring Siaya County, Sirembe and Aluor will experience power interruptions from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm.

In Bungoma County, electricity supply will be interrupted in Mabanga and Ndengelewa from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon.

The utility has urged affected customers to make alternative arrangements for the scheduled interruptions, particularly businesses and institutions that rely on electricity for daily operations.

Households are also encouraged to plan their activities in advance, while businesses handling perishable goods and those operating power-dependent equipment may need to make contingency arrangements.

Kenya Power has previously explained that planned maintenance interruptions are necessary to facilitate work on electricity infrastructure and improve the reliability of supply.

The company has apologised for the inconvenience the scheduled exercise may cause to customers in the affected areas.
