The National Police Service (NPS) has commended participants and organisers of Sunday’s political rally at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi, Nairobi, describing the event as an example of peaceful political engagement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16, NPS said the rally was conducted peacefully, with mutual respect and restraint among organisers, participants and security officers.
The police service said the event demonstrated that Kenyans can exercise their constitutional freedoms peacefully and within the law.
NPS also praised members of the public for their cooperation and adherence to established protocols, urging political leaders, supporters and other stakeholders to uphold the same standards during future political engagements.
Police reiterated that it remains apolitical and impartial and is committed to serving and protecting all Kenyans, residents and visitors.
