Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in several parts of the country on Thursday, November 5, 2026, as part of its planned power maintenance programme.

According to a public notice issued by the utility company, the electricity interruptions will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Kisii, Kiambu, Mombasa and Kilifi counties, with most of the affected customers expected to experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Nairobi, the planned maintenance will affect parts of Westlands and the Ngong Road–Dagoretti Corner area.

In Westlands, areas expected to experience the interruption include parts of Muthithi Road, Westlands Road, Chiromo Road, Mpaka Road and ABC Place, together with neighbouring customers.

The second affected area in Nairobi will cover parts of the Ngong Road and Dagoretti Corner neighbourhoods.

The locations listed in the notice include BM Security, parts of Ngando, Nairobi Chapel, parts of Jamhuri Estate, Racecourse, Dagoretti Corner, Talanta Stadium, the Agricultural Society of Kenya, Ayany Estate and Rubis Petrol Station, alongside adjacent customers.

In Kisii County, the electricity interruption will affect the Gesusu and Masimba areas. Among the affected locations are Gesusu Market, Nyayo Ward Hospital, Gesusu High School, Nyamesocho Secondary School, Geteri Secondary School, Olemilili Secondary School, Ebiosi Secondary School and Masimba Market.

Other locations listed include Kiomiti Booster, Riochungo Market, Metembe Secondary School, Ramasha and Ekona, as well as neighbouring customers.

In Kiambu County, the planned maintenance will affect Gitaru Shopping Centre and adjacent customers. The interruption in the area is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, parts of Mombasa County will experience an electricity interruption in Mariakani and Bwagamoyo. The affected locations include Kibunga, Hussein Dairy, Mariakani, Colorado Dumping Site, Mbilikani Primary, Kinunguna Primary, Pangani, Bwagamoyo, Voroni, Mitsanjeni and Rea.

Unlike most of the other affected regions, the Mombasa interruption is scheduled to end earlier, at 4:00 p.m.

In Kilifi County, the planned maintenance will affect Majengo and Barani areas. Locations listed by Kenya Power include Malindi Complex, Malindi Police Station, Naivas Supermarket, Malindi Casino, Co-operative Bank, Stars and Cutters, Maimuno Hospital, Majengo, Barani and Sea View Hotel, together with adjacent customers.

The Kilifi interruption is also scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The scheduled interruptions mean that households, businesses, institutions and other electricity consumers in the affected neighbourhoods may need to make alternative arrangements during the maintenance period.

Residents are particularly encouraged to plan ahead for activities that depend on electricity, including business operations, food storage, online work and the use of electronic equipment.

Kenya Power regularly publishes planned maintenance notices to inform customers about areas expected to experience temporary electricity interruptions.

Customers in the listed locations are advised to take note of the scheduled dates and times and make the necessary preparations ahead of Thursday's maintenance exercise.
