Kenya Power has scheduled electricity maintenance in several parts of the country today, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with customers in Nairobi, the Rift Valley, Mt Kenya, Western Kenya and Nyanza expected to experience power interruptions.

In Nairobi, areas around Mbaazi Avenue and Hatheru Road will be without power from 9am to 5pm.

The affected areas include parts of Naivasha Road, Riara Road, Riara Close, Hatheru Road, Kingara Road, Gitanga Road, Mbaazi Road, Mbaazi Close, Merlin Court, Naivas Mbaazi Avenue, Ebru TV and part of James Gichuru Road.

Power interruptions in Nairobi

Githunguri Road and Laikipia Road will also experience an interruption during the same period, affecting parts of Migori Road, Tabere Crescent, Kasuku Centre, Oloitoktok Road, Ring Road Westlands and Kileleshwa Police, among other areas.

In the Rift Valley, customers in parts of Samburu, Nyandarua and Uasin Gishu counties will be affected.

Maintenance in Kinamba, Sipili and Ol Jorok will run from 9am to 5pm, affecting areas including Ol Moran, AAA Growers, Mwanzi Farm, Mochongoi, Kabel, Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Marmar, Kisima, Maralal Township, Maralal Water Supply, Poro Radar Station, Losuk, Credible Blooms, Thome Shopping Centre and Rumuruti.

Affected areas in the Rift Valley

In Uasin Gishu, Sirikwa and Cicada will experience an outage from 9am to 5pm, affecting Sirikwa Hotel, Cicada, AP Line, Zion Mall, MUSCO Towers and Eastern Avenue. Kipsinende, Kipkorogot and Naiber are also scheduled for maintenance.

In the Mt Kenya region, parts of Nyeri and Embu counties will be affected.

Solio Ranch, Solio Lodge, Solio Ranch Office, Solio Cattle Dip and DOD Transmitter in Nyeri will be without power from 9am to 5pm.

In Embu, Majengo will experience an interruption from 8:30am to 11am, affecting Majengo Chief’s Camp, KIE Majengo, the County Secretary and Principal Secretary offices, Salkhan Hotel, Shell Petrol Station and Kwetú Hotel.

Power outages in Mt Kenya

Majimbo, Kamú and GTI will then be affected between 11am and 1pm.

In Kiambu, maintenance in Kahawa Sukari and Kimunyu-Muthaite will run from 9am to 5pm. The affected areas include Kahawa Sukari Estates, Felma Shopping Centre, Quickmart, Shell Petrol, Naivas, Kahawa Sukari Police Station, Uhuru Kenyatta Primary and Secondary schools, Nando Farm, Rúera East, Karunguru East, Croton Ridge Estate, Muthaite Farm and Murram Estate.

In Nyanza, parts of Kisumu, Kisii and Migori counties will also experience interruptions. Miguye in Kisumu will be affected from 8am to 5pm, while Huma will experience an outage from 9am to 5pm.

Nyanza region maintenance schedule

In Kisii, maintenance in Keroka and Rianyoka will run from 9am to 5pm, affecting areas including Keroka Hill-Top Hotel, St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls, Keroka Technical Training College, Nyanturago Secondary School, Nyamasibi Market, Masisi Secondary School, Hotel ya Abuga, Matibo Secondary School, Hema Chitago Secondary School and Nyamagesa Secondary School.

In Migori, Nyabohanse and Isibania will experience an interruption from 8:30am to 5pm, affecting Isibania Town, Sorore Water Treatment, Moi Nyabohase, Nyangoge, Nyankore, Komakara, Kubweye, Komosoko, Tagare and Nuru.

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
