The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has warned Kenyans against engaging with fraudulent TikTok accounts impersonating the agency, clarifying that it does not operate an official account on the platform.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, November 4, the authority urged members of the public to avoid interacting with accounts claiming to represent NTSA, directing them to its verified communication channels for enquiries, updates and authentic information.
The warning was accompanied by a video displaying several TikTok profiles using NTSA-related names, logos and branding to present themselves as representatives of the authority.
Among the profiles displayed were accounts labelled FRANCIS NTSA and NTSA AGENT, as well as one presenting itself as a driving licence endorsement service.
The profiles featured driving licence information and other NTSA-related content, potentially making them appear legitimate to Kenyans seeking assistance with transport services.
NTSA emphasised that it does not operate on TikTok and cautioned the public against trusting accounts that use its identity to attract people seeking official services.
The latest warning follows previous scam alerts in which the authority raised concerns over fraudulent social media accounts impersonating the agency on multiple platforms.
In August 2026, NTSA warned against fake accounts on TikTok, X, Facebook and Instagram, advising Kenyans to verify the authenticity of profiles before responding to messages or sharing personal information.
The authority has repeatedly maintained that its communication with the public is conducted through recognised platforms and designated customer service channels.
These include its official X account, @ntsa_kenya, Facebook page, NTSA KENYA, YouTube channel, NTSA_Kenya, and website, www.ntsa.go.ke . Members of the public can also make enquiries through its official email address, info@ntsa.go.ke, and customer care line, 0709 932 000.
NTSA has previously cautioned Kenyans against disclosing sensitive personal information to individuals operating suspicious accounts, particularly where such interactions could expose them to fraud.
The authority has also advised anyone who encounters accounts falsely claiming to represent it to avoid engaging with them and report them to the relevant social media platforms.
Kenyans seeking NTSA services have been urged to rely on the authority’s verified communication channels rather than individuals claiming to offer assistance through unauthorised accounts.
