The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has given motorists two months to collect their unclaimed physical vehicle logbooks before the documents are disposed of under its storage policy.
In a public notice issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, the authority urged vehicle owners with pending collections to visit NTSA offices or Huduma Centres to retrieve their documents before the deadline.
NTSA said that it does not store printed logbooks for more than six months, warning that documents left uncollected beyond the stipulated period would be disposed of in line with its policy.
The authority clarified that collecting a logbook is free of charge. Motorists are required to present their previous logbook and an original national identity card or passport for verification.
The documents can be collected from NTSA offices and Huduma Centres nationwide, which operate from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
Motorists who are unsure whether their logbooks are ready can check their status through the NTSA service portal at **servicestatus.ntsa.go.ke**.
The platform also provides information on uncollected driving licences and number plates.
The authority warned that motorists could face difficulties accessing services that require a physical logbook if they fail to secure their documents.
Those seeking assistance can contact NTSA through its switchboard numbers, 0709 932 300 or 0709 932 000. Inquiries can also be sent to info@ntsa.go.ke or complaints@ntsa.go.ke.
Members of the public can reach the authority through its official social media accounts, @NTSAKENYA on Facebook and @ntsa_kenya on X. Complaints can also be submitted through **ntsa.go.ke/raise-complaint**.
The notice follows an earlier directive issued in June on the collection of unclaimed physical logbooks.
NTSA has urged affected motorists to confirm the status of their documents and collect them within the remaining period to avoid disposal and possible inconvenience when accessing services that require the logbooks.
