Kenya is projected to become the world’s fastest-growing internet advertising market by 2030, with revenues expected to increase from KSh40.6 billion in 2025 to KSh78.2 billion, according to PwC’s Africa Entertainment and Media Outlook 2026–2030. The forecast points to expanding digital opportunities for businesses, even as a retirement survey highlights financial insecurity among Kenyan workers and new initiatives target farmers and investors across Africa.

PwC projects Kenya’s digital advertising market will grow at an annual rate of 14 per cent, nearly double the global average of 7.2 per cent. Video internet advertising is expected to expand even faster, at 18.2 per cent annually, supported by social media platforms and connected television.

PwC Kenya Entertainment and Media Partner Michael Mugasa said businesses that understand their audiences, use data responsibly and measure advertising outcomes would be best positioned to benefit from the growth.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Sanlam Allianz Kenya Retirement Benchmark has found that seven in 10 Kenyans are not on track for a comfortable retirement. Household expenses were the leading barrier to saving, cited by 44 per cent of respondents, followed by irregular income at 37 per cent and debt repayments at 24 per cent.

The study also found that 53 per cent of respondents who left jobs or businesses withdrew at least part of their retirement savings, while 65 per cent later regretted the decision. Sanlam Allianz called for improved financial education and more accessible retirement products.

In the agricultural sector, Sawa Milking Jelly has led a campaign reaching more than 15,000 dairy farmers in Murang’a, Nyandarua, Narok and Bomet. The initiative covered 119 farms through practical demonstrations and media engagements focused on milking hygiene and udder care.

Elsewhere, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has extended its initial public offering application deadline to October 27, 2026, following strong investor interest. The offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at 525 naira each. Allotment is scheduled for November 17, with listing and trading expected 15 business days later.

The developments highlight opportunities in Kenya’s digital economy alongside continuing challenges in retirement planning, agricultural productivity and capital market participation.
