Homa Bay Town Constituency UDA party chairman Franklin Oluoch was attacked by suspected thugs, who also torched his vehicle in Homa Bay Town on Saturday night.
The incident has prompted police investigations, with authorities yet to establish the motive behind the attack.
Homa Bay County Criminal Investigations Officer Jimmy Kisobo confirmed the incident, saying detectives had launched investigations to establish what happened and identify those responsible.
Kisobo said the motive of the attack had not been established as investigations continued.
Police are expected to record statements from the victim and witnesses as they piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The attack comes amid heightened political activity in the region ahead of the 2027 General Election, although police have not linked the incident to any political activity or motive.
