Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans residing overseas to engage more actively in the governance and development of their homeland.
While addressing congregants at Victory Chapel in Dallas, Texas, Gachagua emphasized that those in the diaspora should not be passive observers in matters that impact Kenya.
He encouraged them to contribute their insights and experiences, noting that his current tour of the United States serves as a platform to gather input from Kenyans abroad as he formulates his political manifesto.
Gachagua highlighted his commitment to combating corruption and fostering an environment conducive to investment from the diaspora.
He expressed the need for Kenya to achieve service delivery standards akin to those in the United States.
“You do not have to bribe anyone to get services,” he stated, underscoring the importance of addressing corruption in his agenda.
Regarding healthcare, Gachagua mentioned that his administration would look to the US healthcare model to tackle existing challenges in the sector.
His comments are part of a broader tour across the United States, where he has been engaging with Kenyans in various states on issues related to governance, investment, and national development priorities.
