A family in Otati, Nyatike Sub-County, Migori County, is seeking justice for their Form Three daughter following an alleged sexual assault on October 2, 2026.
The student was reportedly on her way home from Otati Trading Centre in the evening when she was confronted by a man who is said to have forced her off the road and into a bush.

Her father, Felix Michael, (not his real name), said the suspect had a crude weapon and threatened to harm his daughter before allegedly assaulting her.
The student was later taken to hospital for medical attention, after which the family reported the incident to police.
The family says a local resident encountered a man fleeing the area shortly after the incident and was able to identify him as the suspected attacker.
However, the alleged suspect has not been arrested, several days after the incident.
The girl’s father is now appealing to security agencies to trace and apprehend the suspect and have him face court.
The family says it wants the matter pursued through the justice system and the student supported as she recovers from the incident.
